Shelter: Torre Argentina Catshelter
Where: Rome, Italy
Manager: Silvia Viviani
Activity: This shelter tackles the problem of stray cats through sterilization operations and the sheltering of stray cats without a change. For sterilization, the shelter follows the TNR system (Trap, Neuter and Return): The cats are trapped, neutered and then returned to the colony from which they have come. There they are provided by the "gattara", a local catlady. Animals that are not given a new home will be collected: all the kittens, blind, old, sick, injured cats can count on it. Especially the kittens will finally find an owner.
Capacity: about 180 cats
Supported by SBA since:
Silvia Viviani: 'Torre Argentina has grown especially with the help and unconditional support of SBA for years. The regular and generous donations from the Netherlands have helped us through many otherwise difficult and financially uncertain years, which is indispensable for a charitable organization. We give SBA and its sponsors many thanks, and we hope that they all share our pride and satisfaction with everything we have achieved.'
